Universal Life Force

All around us is an amazing invisible and intelligent energy that flows through the whole universe, and also through every creature and person, causing them to be alive, like electricity lights up a lamp when we plug it in. This energy has many different names. Some of these names are ‘God’, ‘Supreme Intelligence’, ‘Jehova’, ‘Brahma’ and ‘Allah’.

We are all part of this universal energy or life-force and it flows through each one of us too. If we have areas in our bodies where this energy doesn’t flow freely, then we can become sick or sad. When the energy flows through every part of our body we will be healthy and happy.

Reiki is a kind of healing that teaches us how to feel the universal energy and how to make that energy move to our hands and out through our palms and fingers so that it can flow into the bodies of others who are sad or sick and make them better.

You just have to imagine the energy flowing down from the Universe into the top of your head, through your body and out of your hands like a shining white light. Try it and see if you can feel your hands getting hot and tingly when the energy comes through them!
